This is where the Geneticists start. It is used to revive dead crew members (let's hope they bothered with a backup) and to do some biological engineering.

Before you can get started, you need to know your lab. The area you work in is divided into three sections:

  • Genetics: The room between Medbay and the Genetics Research room, it is were people are cloned or have their DNA scan backup.
  • Genetics Research: Your main working area. In this area you will find your primary equipment.
  • Monkey Pen: Here you will find monkeys. They are basic test subjects, but it's easier and more rewarding if you can test on a volunteer.

Genetics

In the genetics lab you'll find some of your equipment.

Starting on the left we have a DNA Modifier used as a cloning scanner. It works in conjunction with the cloning console to scan people.

The next machine is the cloning console. This is the machinery that you'll operate to keep the crew database up-to-date.

Once more to the right you find the cloning pod. The cloning pod is basically a piece of machinery that fills the first step of the cloning process: Making the body.

Genetics Research

In this room to the right of Genetics is the DNA modifier console, that is used together with the DNA modifier. This is where the Science is.

You will find some tables to with various supplies. Among them: Some Disks to save data. An Anti-Toxin Medpack for emergencies, some inaprovaline pills and some extra dylovene pills.

You will also find the Genetic Scanner, the latest in scanner development, that allows you to evaluate your results to an extent (read more in Geneticist).

Monkey Pen

There are six Monkeys in the monkey pen, and they are adequate research subjects.
